AFS and EZ4473 Sales Points Vs. ATF’s e-4473
- EZ4473 written by FFL to protect FFL’s (E-form written by ATF with multiple areas of deficiency)
- EZ44473 gives specific warning that direct salesman to prohibit transaction when the customer’s answers warrant such a response. Prohibited transactions cannot be completed.
- Transaction data can be searched from within the software since the data base is stored internally. This gives us the ability to query the transaction instantly by name, date, serial number and more….
- Navigation from page to page and question to question much easier for customers to use
- We have already performed extensive testing and pilot program on our software. ATF has not.
- ATF’s program allows for page continuation with out full field validation, i.e. the proof of residency billing dates.
- EZ4473 has over 100 safety checks, cross checks and validations for critical fields on the 4473.
Areas of deficiency in the ATF E-form
- There are no questions to help the customer remember when they would put a second address. IE Military, on base or off base address.
- No validation for number of guns on form
- No validation of numeric vs alphabetic entries to form (In other words they leave another door open for clerical errors so they can ding you for them later!!)
- Can bypass a prohibited transaction and print with crucial errors. (Errors that could cost you your license on first violation)
- No weight minimum for Section A box 5. (room for typo)
- No server set up so users must complete section B on same machine as customer. No networking of system on multiple stations.
- Section B doesn’t not interface with A&D log book.
- No security for customer’s information…..no encryption of valuable data.
- No difference in users for internal security issues: Any salesman has same permission in software as managers or admin.
- No query for files for easy tracing of firearm info or customer info
- No limitation of out of state buyers per type (long gun) (handgun) ect.
- No limitation on handgun purchase from CA or other prohibited states.
